Located approximately 2 hours’ drive
from Engaresero CBO office; Koilang’a is the hot springs
on the foot of the East Africa’s Gregory rift valley along
the Lake Natron shores surrounded by thousands of flamingos. ‘Koilang’a’
is a Maasai word meaning a ‘Reflective or shining surface’
which is a common feature around this hot spring.
Surrounded by beautiful scenery of volcanic features, Koilang’a
hot spring is an ideal place to visit. The volcanic activity at
Engaresero village and unusual concentration of hotspots is believed
to be the root cause of extrusive volcanic features around such
as Oldonyo Lengai, Gelai, Ketumbeine and Kerimas Mountains.
